Following his degree, he moved to New York City and began learning the art of independent filmmaking from the ground up.  In 2000, he started working with Shirin Neshat on her video installations and artwork.  This experience gave him the unique opportunity to travel around the world, while helping to bring about Neshat’s distinctly beautiful work.  In 2002, he produced his first narrative feature film, “Bomb The System”, which premiered at The Tribeca Film Festival in 2003 and earned him an Spirit Award nomination for “Best First Feature”.  “Bomb The System” was released theatrically in the US and Japan, and on DVD worldwide.  In 2005, Sol began the year in Morocco where he worked on Shirin Neshat’s most recent film, “Zarin” (sundance 2007).  Later in the year, he began two more projects, “Weapons” (Executive Producer) and “The Living Wake” (Director/Producer).   “Weapons” premiered in competition at the Sundance Film Festival in 2007 and distributed in the US theatrically by After Dark Films. While completing “Weapons” and “The Living Wake” (Cinevegas 2007 - Heineken Red Star Award for Originality & Vision, Woodstock 2007 – Audience Award, Austin Film Festival 2007 – Comedic Vision Award) in 2006, Sol began working with Mangusta Productions on developing and producing short multi-channel art films with the idea of opening up a new visual language and experience for viewers.  His next project, “Kick the Can” (Director), is currently in production in Austin, TX. “Kick the Can” is based off of the best selling book of the same name written by Jim Lehrer.  Sol Currently lives in Brooklyn, NY and is committed to bringing passionate stories to people around the world.
